It is 1916 and Europe is firmly in the grip of The Great War. With each passing month, thousands of British soldiers are killed across the English Channel, in France. When Miles Frost, the only son of the Earl of Elmbridge, is wounded, in the Battle of the Somme, he is returned - unconscious, but alive - to Elmbridge Manor, in Surrey. Shortly after, Miles Frost, who is the heir to his father’s title and estate, is found dead, in his bed. When it is discovered that he has been smothered with a pillow, a murder investigation begins, to uncover which of Elmbridge Manor’s residents did not want to see Miles Frost return from the Western Front.
