It is the summer of 1934 and the most prestigious all of the Grand Slam tennis tournaments, the Wimbledon Championships, have drawn to a close. At the exquisite Savoy Hotel, various dignitaries, as well as royalty, gather alongside the greatest tennis stars of the age, to toast this years victors, at the Champions’ Ball. The celebrations are suddenly interrupted, when it is annouced that Mr Rupert Holloway, a sports journalist for The Times, has been found dead in the hotel lobby. As the unfortunate victim has, apparently, tumbled down the hotel’s staircase, a murder investigation is instigated to examine the cirumstances of his bizarre death.
